Study on dyeing properties of dyeable polypropylene and influence of dye polarity

(Tianjin Polytechnic University, Tianjin 300160) There is a disadvantage of poor dyeability. In order to solve this problem, the dyeing performance and dye polarity of disperse dye-dyeable dyes were studied. Table 1 The optimal dyeing temperature for disperse dyes and the corresponding molecular weight dye temperature 2.2.3 Temperature-dependent dyeing performance The effect of selecting 10 disperse dyes is to dye the dyeable polypropylene fibers at 100C, 110C, 120C and 130°C, and the dyed fibers are measured with the DATACOLOR colorimetric system.

2.2.4 The effect of concentration on dyeing 2.2.5 Determination of color fastness 3921.1?

The 3922?1995 standard evaluates.

The 1997 standard evaluates.

Evaluation of Color Fastness The evaluation of color fastness is generally based on the use of fastness and color-matching cards. The enthalpy of the medulla is set around 5 in order to ensure the stability of the dye in the dye bath.

The size of the molecular weight also has a certain influence on the temperature of the dyeing. Because of the increase in molecular weight, the rate of dye uptake tends to decrease, requiring dyes to be dyed at higher temperatures.

3.2 Effect of dye concentration on depth of dyeing (Lifting force.

Table 3 Disperse Dyeing As can be seen from Table 3, the fastness of disperse dye-dyed dyeable polypropylene is basically lower than that of disperse dye-dyed polyester, but on the whole, the rubbing fastness is reduced most significantly. The fastness of disperse dyes after dyeing polypropylene can be lower than that of disperse dyes because the glass transition temperature of dyeable polypropylene is relatively low, about 0C, while the glass transition temperature of polyester is about 80C. . Especially in the soaping fastness test, when the temperature is higher than the glass transition temperature of the polypropylene, the molecular segment activity in the dyeable polypropylene is increased, so that the dye molecules can easily fall off from the fiber, resulting in a lower fastness than the polyester. degree.

At the same time, when dyeable polypropylene is dyed, the plasticity of water is not significant. Although it has a relatively low melting point, it can still be dyed at a high temperature of 130 C, that is, it has a similar melting point under dry heat and moist heat. While polyester dyeing, water plastic effect is relatively large. Because the polarity of dyeable polypropylene is relatively small compared to polyester, dyeable polypropylene is dyed with a disperse dye suitable for dyeing polyester, and its fastness is slightly inferior. However, for dyeable polypropylene, the smaller the dye polarity, the better the soaping fastness of dyed fibers. At the same time, good or bad soaping fastness, but also related to the choice of detergents, this experiment is the choice of a standard detergent, an anionic type, if you use other detergents may have different results.

The size of the molecular weight also has a certain influence on the soaping fastness of dyeable polypropylene. Most large molecular weight dyes have good soaping fastness. Since the dye enters the inside of the fiber, the molecular weight is relatively large, so it is difficult to remove the fiber from the fiber during soaping. For example, the dispersion of dark blue H?GL, its relatively large molecular weight, soaping fastness is also better.

In addition, the perspiration fastness is mainly related to the molecular structure, and the influence of the glass transition temperature is not obvious.

4 Conclusions 4.1 The experiment shows that the best dyeing temperature of disperse dyes for dyeable polypropylene is 120~130Q, but some dyes are more special. Therefore, when formulating the dyeing process, it should be treated specifically; the less polar of the disperse dyes, The dyeing rate is better.

4.2 The dyeability of dyeable polypropylene dyed with disperse dyes is lower than that of dyed polyester; the soaping fastness of disperse dyes with small polarity or high molecular weight is better.

4.3. Different dyes have different lifting forces. Therefore, it must be combined with the lifting force of the dye during the formulation process. The less polar disperse dyes have better lifting power for dyeable polypropylene.
